Accelerated Reader

AR accounts for 10% of a students reading grade.  Every Thursday, the students will be encouraged to take an AR test during computer time.  They also have the opportunity to take tests before school.  Most of the books at second grade level are worth 0.5 points each.  In order for a student to reach the goal of 5 points by the end of the quarter, they will need to take and pass about 10 books tests.  They will be highly encouraged to do so in class, however, it is ultimately your child's responsibility to make sure they are taking and passing AR tests weekly.

4.5 Points = 90%

4 Points = 80%

3.5 Points = 70%

3 Points = 60%

2.5 Points = 50%

2 Points = 40%

1.5 Points = 30%

1 Point = 20%

0.5 Points = 10%

0 Points = 0%
